Chronic Pain Tracker App Reviews

Needs improved body graphic

Good little app for tracking pain ratings, very limited for location ie. body graphic doesnt allow for both front and back pain, and has no neck, an area where many people experience pain either separately or radiating. I hope updates will improve these drawbacks.

This is a great app

Ive suffered from undiagnosed Chronic pain for years - after using this app for one month, I was able to provide my doctors specific data that made a huge difference in their analysis of my situation - it is dead simple to use - and with the new export functions, completely killer. My Doctor was blown away by the data I was able to provide her.

This app is exactly what I needed

I have been suffering from chronic pain for a long time and contantly arguing with my many doctors about the pain. As with most doctors they prescibe antidepressants, thinking its depresion that was the cause of the pain. Now with this app and my itouch I can record my pain and show my doctors. This app is helping with the communication of my pain with the doctors and they listening. Thank You

Great new updates!!!! Must have app.

This app is so helpful. I was hit by a car and broke my neck, sternum, leg and other things and have been in recovery for the pass 2 years. I use this app for tracking my chronic pain from the injuries which not only helps my doctors believe, understand, & treat me but also validates the pain I live with for myself and make me not feel so crazy. With this app you can actually SEE your pain, how it changes and travels through your body. Keep track of what activities induce pain, what relieves it, attach keyword descriptors to it, track medications, and export detailed reports for yourself and doctors. This creates evidence that what you are experiencing is real & its AMAZING to be able to share that with the people who are trying to help you. I loved this app before but with the recent updates of body overlays of the skeletal & muscle system, it really improves the ability to pin point the pain & understand where its coming from. I dont right reviews. But I had to for this one. For people with chronic pain you must get this app. The price is worth the validation youll feel after collecting only a weeks worth of data. Imagine after collecting a years worth like me. Thank you to the creators. Its an answer to prayers!!!!

Horrible journal

Allows for no bast pain journaling. If you have had chronic pain since 1996, as I have had, there is no way to re-journal them from sheets of paper of my pain conditions from past. You MUST buy this app the first sign of pain.

Fabulous tracker!

I love this program! They have been working on glitches since I started, but I can back date them if I missed a few days no problem? Love that you can print or email reports! Its very thing I need, plus you can customize almost all the areas! Great job! My accident was 5 1/2 years ago, and the chronic pain tracker helps me with a lot! LB

Best pain tracker available.

Before downloading this version of pain tracker I tried six other pain trackers and diaries available for the iOS. I wont say which ones, since I dont know what review etiquette is about that here, but most of them were ones that are frequently found on sale. They each had their positives and negatives, but I wasnt happy with them. The most common problems I had were: 1. Some were simply a chore to use. I mean, tracking pain is boring and interrupts the flow of my day as it is, wrestling with annoying controls and design decisions makes it worse. Pain Tracker is simple to use and I can make a detailed entry in the shortest time possible, which is what I wanted. 2. Inadequate reports. I wasnt satisfied with their reports, period. Some were so limited as to not be useful, others were confusing. If Im seeing a specialist and give them a report print out, its not going to help at all if I have to take ten minutes to explain how to read it and what things mean. Pain Trackers reports are the reason I love it so much: I can choose exactly how much or how little I want included, what I want it focused on, and so many other options. As a real world example, my GPs response to the first pain tracker report I brought was: "this is a good program!" #3. Not flexible enough. Every chronic pain/illness is different. With too many of the other apps things were included that didnt apply to me and my condition, or alternatively there was no way to add something I wanted included. Pain Tracker is great for this, I was able to set it up to track only those things that apply to me, and include everything I needed. Honestly you could literally set it up to track if the weather effects how much you like aunt Marthas famous whipped chocolate pie, if you liked. Everything is not perfect, however, and theres something you should know upfront: the current version occasionally crashes. Not often, but enough to annoy you when it happens. It happens most often when youre leaving the screen where you draw pain locations on a paper doll. As a temporary fix I just do the doll part first, so I dont lose any other data if it does crash. Even with this problem though, this is head and shoulders above the pack in my opinion. So thats it... I really like this app. Why the long review? I thought it might help someone find the right tool that they need, and to encourage the developers to keep improving this app: its a good one, and it helps me.

Very practical

This is an excellent app, very pratical to show doc. I find I often get the low memory warning and it is confusing. It would be great if it could save to icloud and be synced to many devices. I like using the iPad version because of the graph, BUT I wish it could be used in landscape mode AND that the sections had bigger print or zoomable. Also, you can add many more labels to the sections, but the graphs become illegible with words over-lapping.

Great!

Would have oven 5 stars if it didnt crash so much! Although the crashing is more of a quibble in an otherwise great app. Lets me track chronic pain in a really comprehensive way, much more than I could ever create on my own. Would be nice to have some customizable trackers in the future... For example, hours of sleep, number of extra naps, etc. Big thanks to the developers!!!

Love it - usefull

GP, physio, work occupational health and safety. All impressed by tool

Fantastic!

This is so useful for giving detailed information about a subjective experience such as pain. Its very helpful for me when speaking with my employer or my rheumatologist or my pain specialist. Super easy to use really. Very customizable very visual very detailed. Well worth the money!

5 Star all the way

What a fantastic pain management app! The only thing missing would be to include photos with comments or like a milestone. Then Id give the app 10 stars!! Thanks creators I love it!!!

Very handy tool

It is helpful that most of the scales can be modified by adding your own words to describe the way your pain feels, triggers, intensity etc. You are able to make enteries as many times a day as you like. I find it helpful to motivate me when I look over my entries and see that moving through the pain by exercising often helps me feel better. I was able to see patterns in my day and adjust accordingly. I was able to see that working on meditating and mindfulness is making a positive difference in my pain levels. It is very handy that I dont have to reflect on my past days but I can provide my doctor with very accurate information and they are better able to fine tune meds and provide suggestions.

This is a great app!

I am using this app to track and try to understand a very painful long-term side effect of cancer radiation treatment. This app is the most comprehensive and easy-to-use chronic pain tracker Ive found. It tracks so many aspects of pain and things that might be related to pain (even automatically loading the weather where you are for each entry) that it might seem overwhelming at first. But the ability to drill down with custom tailored diaries and reports that can then be easily updated on-the-spot makes it all extremely manageable. Its already helped me and my care team move from "I dunno" to "Aha!" Amending or augmenting diary entries is extremely easy to do, as is adding narrative notes for each one. And the automatic data back up to the cloud is all important.

Excellent and easy to use!

Looking for a way to track my fibromyalgia pain and this app goes above and beyond to do that. Its going to be so easy for me and my doctor to sit down now and have a game plan!

Not perfect, but soooooo close!

My wife and I both have chronic illnesses, and cast about for quite a while for something to track their goings-on for our specialists. This app is the only one we have found that lets us do even close to everything we need. It could use a few touch-ups, but is very definitely best in breed.

Love This App!

Great app. Really helps track the issues so that you can take the reports to your doctor. However, I wish it had a barometric meter included along with the weather application at NO cost. Other than that, it is fantastic.

Pain Tracker

This is nice and I love it! Easy to configure for any type illness or for general health stats.

An outstanding application with one possibly major flaw

Ive suffered from chronic pain for over 15 years. On my own I had always tried to keep a detailed pain journal to look for any patterns that might arise. The current version of the app is amazing at help you see past all of the little notes you keep. In the first week I was able to visualize exactly how much different factors in life either raised or lowered my pain. I made changes to lower my exposure to certain pain triggers and was able to decrease the amount of medicine I take. After a few months I was also able to use the report function to see how a certain medication change had increased the number of headaches I have by a large factor. My doctor took me off of the medicine and now things are back to normal. I had always known that things like the weather and stress increased my pain but I never realized how much. I also was able to notice one thing that relieved my pain that I never realized before. I also was able to see that the trigger point injections I was getting actually made my pain worse. The program has a great list of potential pain triggers. There were a couple that I hadnt thought of that I saw did increase my pain but the biggest benefit was that I could enter my own triggers, medications, and relief techniques into the lists. I would suggest that you also take the time when you set it up to personalize these lists. It will pay off for you in the long run. I also strongly recommend that you use the tool that lets you "paint" where your pain is. The tool lets you color where your pain is. For people who have pain in multiple places there are different colors you can use to represent the relative pain between there areas. In my case Ill have pain in my legs, left shoulder and back at the same time but the legs hurt the worst so I choose the Red color for my legs and yellow or orange for my back and shoulder. By taking the time to really pay attention and carefully paint the exact location of my pain I was able to see that I had a problem with my left knee I never new I had. The only potential flaw in this is human nature. When I first used it the only time I ever thought to enter data was when my pain bothered me. By doing this it made my average pain look far higher than it actually is. Lets face it when your pain is low you are doing stuff and not thinking about entering data into your journal. My solution was to set a timer for every 90 minutes. Once I did that I was able to truly see how my pain changes. I know this is expensive but when I compare it to the hundreds of dollars I spend each month on health care I see it is a great investment. Just from learning that point injections dont work for me I was able to save $40 a month. I urge you to get this and I really hope it can help you like it helped me.

Great app

Ive used this app since 2011 and continue to highly recommend it. It builds a comprehensive report that I can share with doctors and use to help me see long-term trends and make adjustments.
